The Importance of Travel Brochures in Vacation

At this age and time, when people hardly spend a day out of work and would like to at least have a week off, taking a nice vacation becomes everyone’s dream. Hence, careful planning about an anticipated dream vacation is very much necessary. Although some may enjoy surprises, many wouldn’t want unwanted disturbances during their most awaited vacation. To plan your vacation well, you may resort to travel brochures provided by many travel agencies.

Other than the internet, travel brochures today contain a wide and reliable source of travel information. As they increasingly become in demand among tourists, travel agencies now come up with more attractive, easy-to-understand brochures.

If you aren’t decided which place to spend your vacation to, you can collect as many travel brochures as you like so you can choose well and plan well. In taking a vacation, it pays to know beforehand what you are going to expect in a place, such as the accommodation, the food, the accessibility of the area, the people, and more importantly, the expenses. According to Stephen William’s Tourism: Critical Concepts in the Social Sciences, it was mentioned that among the British outgoing tourists, brochures had become a major information source, replacing to some extent the travel agent as a source of information. Meaning, more people rely on a travel brochure already. And this has now become a common practice as evidenced by the number of travel brochures produced and provided by travel agencies everywhere else in the world.

What can you find in a travel brochure that makes it a good source of information? Generally, travel brochures contain the following: Brief summary of the setting with highlights of important places, Location including a map, Geography, Major cities, Well-known places, Historic Sites and Landmarks, Recreation and Outdoor Activities—parks, sports, water, Entertainment, Climate and overall weather condition, Transportation, Arts and Culture including museums and theaters, Languages and Local Dialect, Food that the area is known for. It is indeed a compilation of a wide-spread of information laid in a not-so-small, not-so-big sheet of paper, the brochure.

Keep in mind, however, that you still need to confirm the details (especially the prices) with the hotel, or resort, or travel agency from which you got our travel brochures. There can be instances that certain services and/or fees have already changed or do not anymore apply.

This goes to stay that a perfect vacation is always possible. For someone who wants a nice and hassle-free vacation, stock yourself with travel brochures and you will get all the information you need. So you end up with your dream vacation.

International Flight – Baggage No-No’s

If you plan to travel abroad, you better take into consideration checking out what items you are allowed to bring for an international flight before even packing your things. It is best to consider some international travel tips before heading to your destination. For one, you can check if your baggage doesn’t contain any item that may belong to the so called Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) that have already been restricted for international flights. You wouldn’t want to end up leaving some of your stuff at the airport security because you are not allowed to check it in with you.

This goes without saying that, paying attention to some international travel tips, which you might have stumbled upon right now, can be very helpful. Knowing the what-not-to-bring items for an international trip leaves you free of hassle during check-in. The Civil Aviation Regulations have restricted transport of items classified as dangerous or hazardous.

Here is a detailed list of restricted items as identified by the U.S. Transportation and Security Association (TSA). The same restrictions are implemented by most, if not all, international airlines around the world.

Explosives such as blasting caps, dynamite, fireworks, flares in any form, hand grenade, plastic explosives, and realistic replicas of explosives are not allowed. Flammable items like aerosol, fuels, lighters, and strike anywhere matches are also prohibited. Same goes for guns and firearms

Disabling Chemicals and other Dangerous items which include fire extinguishers and other compressed gas cylinders, and spillable batteries, except those in wheel chairs, are not allowed. Sharp Objects such as ice axes, ice picks, knives except for plastic or round bladed butter knives are forbidden, except for safety razors.

Sporting Goods such as baseball bats, bows and arrows, cricket bats, golf clubs, hockey sticks, lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles, and spear guns are also barred from international travel.

Meanwhile, martial arts and self-defense items such as pepper sprays; as well as tools including hatchets, cattle prods, and crowbars are allowed for check-in but not for carry-on.

With the above list, you are now sure to pack right and avoid check-in delays that may be caused by innocence – or ignorance – of airport policies and restrictions. While these restrictions may be common to most international airlines, some may have stricter or less strict regulations. It is always best to equip yourself with some international travel tips before your trip abroad, so that you are less likely to encounter problems and delays.

You can get to Extremadura by plane, train or bus. But since Extremadura has no airport, the nearest drop-off by plane is Madrid or Lisbon. From there, you continue by bus or train. You can also take a train from Madrid to Extremadura, which is about three hour trip.

The most common destinations when visiting Extremadura are Caceres, which is the capital of Upper Extremadura; Guadaloupe, a place dominated by a colossal Mudejar style monastery which preserves valuable works of art; Trujillo, which is the birthplace of famous conqueror Pizarro; Medrid, the capital of Extremadura; Placensia, a beautiful town with a Gothic-Plateresque cathedral, medieval town-walls and several palaces; and Badajoz, The capital of Lower Extremadura.

Caceres contains the most scenic routes and the most interesting towns and villages. Among its popular destinations are the House of Storks, the Roman Arch of the Christ, the Bujaco Tower and the Museo de Caceres. The House of Storks (Casa de las Cigüeñas) was built towards the end of the 15th century. It was classified as a completely unique construction.

The Roman Arch of the Christ was built by the Romans in the 1st century, and it is the oldest monument of the city. The Bujaco Tower is claimed to be the most beautiful one of the five towers that is left in the city when it was under Muslim control throughout the 12th century. And the Museo de Caseres is a museum housed in two beautiful old buildings with a Moorish tank in the basement dating from the 9th century. Worldwide Travel Insurance

Travelling abroad requires doing a little background research about the place you are going to – the country in general, or the city/town in particular. You need to know and be updated about the safety of the place for your own good. Listen to the news if there are outbreaks of diseases that might, in anyway, affect you during travel. This also calls for checking whether the travel company who issued your ticket covers a travel insurance policy that you can avail of whenever you opt for a worldwide travel. Getting into some mess while abroad can be very depressing. One way to feel confident while travelling is to make sure that you are protected – that you are insured from the day you left till the day you come back.

While many people think that it is already enough to carry with them their credit card insurances or health cards, they seem to forget that certain conditions may not be covered by a health or credit card insurance especially if he/she is out of the territorial boundaries covered by the card. Worldwide travel offers a lot of surprises and fun, you wouldn’t want to ruin the fun while you are out there enjoying yourself to the highest level. Travel insurance ensures a perfect travel.

Paris City Breaks

Why avail of travel insurance? There are many different reasons why someone, who enjoys the flying and who is often out for a worldwide travel, must consider getting a travel insurance. For one, an emergency situation abroad can be very expensive. Let’s say, a Chinese guy met an accident while he is in UK and he needs to be travelled back to China, air ambulance will cost him too much unless he is insured adequately.

The benefits of travel insurance may range from medical needs, health care, personal liability, 24-hour emergency assistance, lost or stolen possessions, and many others depending on the range or level assigned by the insurance company.

As someone who wants a peace of mind while on worldwide travel, you need to check out on the travel insurance companies in your locality and compare benefits and prices. It is better to shop around and look for good prices than to travel without being covered by any insurance. Low prices may mean less coverage and high prices may mean more benefits, choose what best you’re your need. Travel like your geared-up for a fight, you have yourself ready for anything worst to happen.
